DEBTEC-Development of Biotechnology & Environmental Conservation Centre consists of a group of dedicated scientists committed to a mission of harnessing science and technology for poverty alleviation and environmentally sustainable social and economic development in Bangladesh. DEBTEC is a member of IUCN.
It was founded in August 1998 and is widely known as the pioneer in creating awareness for the conservation of medicinal and aromatic plants of Bangladesh. It's other major works involve the propagation and conservation of orchids & medicinal plants through the use of tissue culture.
